Boil water order lifted in Galahad

The boil water advisory for Galahad has been lifted.

All Galahad residents can return to normal water consumption practices; boiling is no longer required.

The precautionary advisory went into effect in Galahad on Friday, June 21, after the water was turned on again following the repair of a water main break near the Galahad Care Centre.

The water main break occurred around 4:30 p.m. Thursday and had affected all residents living in the hamlet.

Water is expected to be back on in Galahad by about 2 p.m. today (June 21).

Once the water is flowing again, the hamlet will be under a 48-hour boil water advisory. That means drinking water, as well as water used for washing dishes, should be boiled at a rolling boil for at least a minute. Otherwise, Galahad residents face a risk of bacterial infection.
